Trincomalee and Pasikuda Beaches: Great for sea bathing with many water sports facilities including fishing and sea angling. 18th century British admiral Horatio Nelson described ‘Trinco’ as the finest (natural) harbor in the world. Hot wells, Pigeon Islands and the colonial era’s Portuguese/Dutch fort are other attractions.  Northern of 'Trinco',- Nilaweli - is superb for sea & sun bathing, where the shallow beach goes up to half a mile into the sea. Few meters from Nilaveli is a small rocky island good for snorkeling.
